PLAYING CARD SERIES: Seth Rollins
Ink and liquid acrylic on 22″ x 30″ watercolor paper
Every generation through WWE’s history has that one person who consistently puts on a great match, who’s the one that may not have been the one that made you buy your first ticket to a show but definitely got you to buy your second. You may have paid to see Bruno Sammartino, Hulk Hogan or The Rock back in the day, but it was Bob Backlund, Shawn Michaels or Chris Jericho that made you really fall in love with the art form of pro wrestling. Seth Rollins is that person right now, I feel.
Night after night, he consistently delivers. He can GO in the ring, he makes you as the audience feel what he’s feeling, and he puts a ton of thought into everything he does. I think all of that makes him one of my favorite subjects and someone I’ve done a lot of paintings of and am sure to do more in the future.
