UPDATE! Raffle tickets are now available! Just go to the Prints section of my store and for $5, not only are you entered into the raffle, but I’ll also send you a YES! mini-print as a thank you gift! Online ticket sales are only open through October 14th, and then only in person at the show on the 15th. I’m totally overwhelmed by the generosity of everyone involved so far, and I’m excited that together we can make David’s wish come true!

I am super-excited to announce that I am putting together another gallery show of my wrestling art to raise money for the Missouri chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The last event raised $2000 for the charity, and they have challenged me to raise $5000 with this event. The reason for that is this will allow me to fully fund one child’s wish. I was even able to choose which kid I would be working for, and David’s story really touched me:

Wish Child David is battling a brain tumor, which is an abnormal growth of tissue in the brain. Each year, more than 17,000 brain tumors are diagnosed in the United States. Brain tumors can develop at any age, but are most common in children between the ages of 3-12. About half of all primary brain tumors are benign, but in life-threatening locations. The rest are malignant and invasive.

David is a fun-loving 9-year-old and has an amazing personality. He is very excited about his upcoming wish to go to Disneyland. “I can’t wait to hopefully meet Darth Vader and Darth Maul,” said David. In his spare time he likes to play video games and his iPad. While at home relaxing David enjoys listening to music, watching his favorite television show, “Johnny Test”, and reading Avengers comics.

A good friend of mine passed away earlier this year from a brain tumor. For Christmas, his brother had me do a Star Wars painting for him, that ended up being his last gift to his brother. As soon as I saw David’s story, I knew that this was meant to be. I had the honor and pleasure to meet David and his family, and I surprised him with a painting of Darth Vader:

This is going to be my biggest show yet, because it’s my most important one to date. At least 40 of the Champions Collection portraits will be on display, and I will also have about fifty watercolors there and all of my prints. In addition to this, I’ll have raffles going throughout the day to let fans win wrestling memorabilia signed by wrestlers. I can already announce that thanks to Highspots I’ll have some posters of my Bret Hart painting, signed by Bret himself! Way more announcements to come in the days leading up to the show. I’ll also have ways for those of you not in the Kansas City area to participate and enter in the raffle. 100% of the money raised at the show will be donated to Make-A-Wish MO.

The show will be on October 15th from 12PM to 6PM, at The River Market Event Place located at 140 Walnut Street, Kansas City, MO 64106. A very special thank you to the people at RMEP for donating the use of their space for the show.

If you are a wrestler or wrestling company who would like to contribute items to the raffle, please contact me at robschamberger at gmail. You will be fully credited for your generosity.

UPDATE!

Thanks to the generosity of my friends at Highspots, I’ll have three of each of these posters as part of the raffle! Three signed by the Hitman Bret Hart and three signed by ‘Razor Ramon’ Scott Hall, ‘Diesel’ Kevin Nash and ‘X-Pac’ Sean Waltman!
