The infamous Dino Bravo bench press from the first Royal Rumble! So a couple months back I was contacted by Colt Cabana to do this painting as his birthday gift to CM Punk. You read that right. It was so surreal, watching Punk’s new documentary while painting this, knowing it’s going to be hanging in his weight room. If you look back, you’ll see that Punk’s portrait was the first one I did to kick of this whole wacky wrestling collection, and it was a nice bit of coming full circle.
And also, this piece was a riot to work on. The whole thing is rather ridiculous, from the fact that this got a good chunk of time on the first Rumble, to Jesse Ventura in his riotous outfit, to Mean Gene doing the play-by-play of a bench press.
