Ink, watercolor, acrylic and marker on 9″ x 12″ watercolor paper
This portrait of Sting was really fun, because I just kept throwing stuff at it until it felt like it worked. The watercolor and ink alone didn’t feel like enough, so I brought in the grey marker. It still didn’t have much of a pop, so I then splashed some black house paint on it, but that made it unbalanced. So then I dripped the white house paint, and voila, one of my favorite pieces!
