Beulah Louise Henry (1887-1973) was one of the greatest inventors in American history. A direct descendant of American Founding Father Patrick Henry, Beulah showed an early knack for inventions, getting her first patents submitted while still in college.
She moved to New York in 1924, where she founded two companies and later worked as an inventor for the Nicholas Machine Works. Her notable inventions include the vacuum ice cream freezer, a bobbin-free sewing machine, numerous improved versions of typewriters, redesigned envelopes for mass mailings, and numerous other items that have become staples of modern living.
